Sam has years of experience at analyzing a situation and then finding the best solution. That makes him particularly well suited to helping our customers find just the right mortgage to fit their individual home financing needs, an often challenging exercise. Energetic and enterprising by nature, Sam previously worked 29 years at Pac Bell in many different jobs, retiring as a business manager in 1996. He is extremely involved in the local community through many organizations including the Arroyo Grande Rotary Club, the Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce, SLO Sportsman's Association, South County Historical Society, Arroyo Grande Police Advisory Council, the California Law Enforcement Historical Society and SLOLEAF (San Luis Obispo Law Enforcement Assistance Foundation). At a time when others might have relaxed from their accomplishments, Sam went on and received his Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Redlands.
He enjoys Cowboy Action Shooting as one of his primary hobbies and is a true champion, having won just about every major "Old West Shooting Event." In his 18 years of competition, Sam garnered 8 State Championships (California 6 times, once for Mississippi and once for Hawaii), the Western Regional Championship 6 times, the Western States Championship, and the National Championship. He also achieved the highest of all by winning 3 World Championships in 2006! Sam is also the co-founder of Chorro Valley Regulators, the local Cowboy Action Shooting Club.
Sam has recently taken up knife and tomahawk throwing. If it has a point, Sam will try and throw it. Sam is a member of the International Knife Thrower’s Hall of Fame.
He is currently in the middle of constructing a 210+ MPH car to compete in 1 mile standing start racing. He is currently the owner of a 175 MPH 1970 Mustang and will be retiring that from competition once the new car is finished.
One of his other interests is raising Smooth Fox Terriers. With his co-breeder, they garnered the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2010 Best of Breed. They also won the National Championship and the Tournament of Champions in 2006, 2007 and 2009, and have the 2010 #1 ranked Smooth Fox Terrier in the U.S - Dodger!

Their award-winning dogs have produced over 30 Champions!

You can tell anything Sam tackles, he does extremely well. The maze of mortgages delights him!
