Sheila White joined The Mortgage House-Kauai with over 23 years experience in mortgage lending. She started her career as a loan officer in 1982 with a mortgage banking firm in Orange County California, quickly learned her craft and moved her way up to Sales Manager with responsibility for training and managing a loan origination staff of 12. After several years she took a new position as a Branch Manager with another company and continued there until she realized she missed working with buyers, helping them realize the dream of home ownership. Sheila returned to loan origination and continued to excel with outstanding performance until 1990 when she made a move into wholesale lending.
Sheila spent four years working for Norwest Mortgage in Orange County, California from 1990 until 1994 and then transferred to their newly expanded territory in Washington State. In her six and one half years with Norwest Mortgage, Sheila qualified for their prestigious “Sales and Service” Conference for 5 years. When Norwest Mortgage closed their wholesale operation in Washington, Sheila took the opportunity to go back to “retail loan origination” (direct mortgage banking). She spent six years originating loans on Whidbey Island, just north of Seattle, where she was active in the local Chamber of Commerce, Soroptimist International, and W.I.S.H. (Whidbey Island Share a Home), a non-profit organization matching home providers with home seekers to facilitate affordable housing.
Sheila and her husband Dick decided to make a life change and relocate to Princeville, Kauai. They have four children and one grandson. She is bringing her extensive knowledge of the lending field to The Mortgage House’s branch operations there, and we are excited to have her on our Team!
